This is the photographic version of that tiny plastic sample spoon they use at ice cream parlors to let you taste vanilla bean. It's a sample,  small but good, hey, damn good, so good your mouth calls up a double scoop before your mind can say no, and soon you've inhaled this whole frozen pile of creamy diabetic American bliss.

Less metaphorically this is a look at some of the filming locations from Dear Suburbia, more or less, vague enough to suit the ethics of surf travel but enough to spike traffic on Expedia about four minutes from now once you're done gazing through. What Youth took cameras on the run in July 2011 and basically hasn't stopped. These are a few of the places we've gone and the waves we found there, the pins in our map.
